Don’t kill this sacred river

Hi, I’m Ganga, whom you consider as the mother of all rivers and also the national river of India. I’m forced to write this because my existence is now endangered. Part of me is dead and the remaining is reeling under pain.

My body is no more pure, clean and healthy. My body is filled with toxic material. The industrial waste from the surrounding areas is dumped in me, the sewage waste and the bodies you cremate on the banks of the river are also polluting the water. I lost all the glory I had in the past. My wealth, flora and fauna, is also facing the threat to their lives.
Men of this state consider me as goddess and worship me; if this is how you treat me I can just imagine the plight of other river bodies in this country. All natural things in this world are for the sake of humans, but you don’t take care of it and indeed destroy it, which in turn keeps human life at stake.
So, I entreat you to save the natural wealth of this world be it rivers, animals or birds. Every living thing has got its own right to live in this world. As a human being we must protect the natural wealth, after all they are to satisfy our needs.
